Cheeky Guides

March16th

Now that we’re all middle aged and starting to take an interest in chunky knitwear and birdwatching, it feels the time is right to create a book of healthy invigorating walks with a difference! Cheeky Walks In Brighton & Sussex will be a book of twenty five walks, each with a specific theme such as city strolls, a treasure hunt round a ghost village with a soundtrack provided by one of Brighton’s biggest groups, a trek up Sussex’s highest mountain, a Lord Lucan trail in Peacehaven, and the usual tall tales you should have come to expect by now. Imagine one of those guided tours without having to stand behind a gaggle of people straining to hear what the bloke with the furled umbrella is telling you (and each copy of the book may well come with a free furled umbrella – we haven’t quite nailed down all the cost implications of that yet). All walks will be accessible by public transport, some are town, some are country and one of them actually takes in the Churchill Shopping Centre.

We’re posting a series of trial walking routes here so you can have a go gratis, and if you want to send us photos for inclusion in the book or a bit of feedback on how it went then that would be nice too. Try to be kind though, our head walker’s a sensitive chap who likes trees and flowers.

On the right is the first free sample walk (click to download the PDF).
